Metadata is useful until it travels too far.

A photo may contain camera details, capture time, orientation, software information, and sometimes location coordinates. Not every file contains these fields, and not every metadata block can be interpreted by a browser tool.

Verification note: The export removes metadata by creating a new image from decoded pixels. For high-risk sharing, independently inspect the downloaded file as well; unusual or unsupported metadata containers may not appear in the initial report.

Common questions

What metadata removal means.

Does every photo contain GPS coordinates?

No. Location data depends on the device, capture settings, editing history, and export method. The absence of a readable GPS field in the report is not proof that every possible metadata container was analyzed.

Will the visible photo change?

The new file is encoded again from visible pixels, so dimensions can remain the same while compression characteristics may differ. Compare the preview and output details before sharing.

Why preserve image orientation?

Some older photos rely on an orientation tag. A fresh export should render that orientation into the pixels so the image stays upright even after the tag is removed.
